To create and sustain a memorial and preserve such infrastructure as necessary to honour and remember all those airmen and women who served, trained and gave their lives while stationed at RAF Blyton. We strive to ensure that their dedication, courage and sacrifice are never forgotten, and that future generations understand the vital role this RAF aerodrome played during its operational years.

Our Aims

Our aims are rooted in remembrance, preservation and education.

To Honour and Remember:
We pay tribute to the men and women who served at RAF Blyton, acknowledging their bravery and the ultimate sacrifice made by many based at the Station in the pursuit of peace and freedom and the defeat of Nazi tyranny.

To Preserve the Site’s Heritage:

We are committed to protecting and maintaining the historic airfield, including a selection of its remaining buildings and features, as lasting symbols of the Station’s wartime history and the surrounding Lincolnshire community with which it co-existed.

To Educate and Inspire:

Through exhibitions, guided visits and digital storytelling, we seek to share RAF Blyton’s rich and moving history with the public especially younger generations, inspiring enduring respect, reflection and understanding of its legacy.

To achieve our vision, we aim to:

Preserve and Restore: Safeguard selected physical remnants of RAF Blyton, ensuring they remain accessible and protected for generations to come.

Document and Archive: Collect and curate photographs, stories, documents and artefacts connected to the airfield’s operational years, creating a comprehensive historical record.

Engage the Community: Encourage local participation in preserving the airfield’s memory through volunteer initiatives, educational programmes and community events.

Promote Awareness: Increase public knowledge of RAF Blyton’s contribution to wartime operations, through both on-site interpretation and digital outreach.

Build Connections: Work collaboratively with veterans’ associations, historians, local authorities, the Royal Air Force and heritage organisations to share knowledge and resources in support of our mission.

Volunteers Needed to Support Our Vision

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us as we continue to preserve and share the history of RAF Blyton. Any level of support is welcomed  whether you can offer time, skills, or simply a passion for keeping our local heritage alive.

Our group is growing, and we are developing plans to expand our work across the dispersed sites and wider community. To achieve this, we are seeking volunteers who would like to assist with public events, heritage displays, and the handling or interpretation of WW2‑related memorabilia. We are also interested in hearing from anyone with RAF service records or personal connections to Blyton’s wartime past. With the support of local people, we can continue to build a stronger team and ensure that the stories of RAF Blyton are preserved for future generations. If you would like to get involved, we would be delighted to hear from you.
